Features

Everything you'd expect, and nothing you wouldn't.

Real messaging, built so the people who run it can't read it. Here's ARKK, screen by screen.

Messaging

Encrypted messaging that stays yours

Every message is sealed on your device before it leaves and opened only on your recipient's. By default your history persists on your phone, it's yours to keep, not ours to hold.

Identity

No phone number. Just twelve words.

Open ARKK and your device generates a 12-word recovery phrase and your keys. No sign-up, no email, nothing tied to who you are. The phrase is shown once, on a screenshot-blocked screen.

Conversations

One calm place for everything

Text, photos, files and voice notes, all end-to-end encrypted, all in one thread. Turn on a disappearing timer for a chat when a conversation shouldn’t linger.

Defaults

Private by default, not by chore

Read receipts, notifications and profile sharing all ship off. App lock and screenshot protection ship on. You don’t have to harden ARKK, it arrives that way.

In the box

A short list of everything ARKK does

  • End-to-end encryption

libsodium public-key crypto on every message, file and voice note.

  • 12-word identity

No phone number, no email. Your keys are born on your device.

  • Disappearing messages

Opt-in per chat, 30-second timer, symmetric, off by default.

  • Read receipts off

Off until you opt in, and symmetric when you do.

  • Voice notes

Recorded, encrypted, and sent like everything else.

  • Files & photos

Share attachments end-to-end encrypted, sealed to the recipient.

  • App lock

Biometric or passcode, on by default, with auto-lock.

  • Screenshot protection

Blocks in-app captures on your most sensitive screens.

  • Encrypted in transit

Every payload is end-to-end encrypted, so interception, even of a broken TLS connection, reveals only ciphertext.

  • No ads or trackers

No analytics, no advertising IDs, nothing to sell.

  • Quiet notifications

Off by default; when on, only an opaque wake-up token.

  • Voice callsSoon

Coming soon. Today: messaging, attachments and voice notes.

Under the hood

The server only ever sees ciphertext

Your words are sealed end-to-end. Even read receipts and settings ride inside the encryption, the relay in the middle can't tell a setting change from a sentence.

Your device seals a message; the ARKK server relays only ciphertext it cannot open; the message is decrypted only on the recipient's device. Read the full security model
